Michael Lee Mike is an associate in the litigation practice groups, working primarily in the areas of commercial law (business, commercial real estate, and limited intellectual property), Premise Liability law, and Insurance Defense. Recently, Mike won judgments of $780,000.00 and $420,000.00 for his clients. Additionally, he successfully defended a multi-million dollar commercial real estate/construction defect dispute through summary judgment, dismissal of an action for Premise Liability in federal court against a major hotel resort, and summary judgment of a claim involving wrongful death for the defense. In 2009, Super Lawyers magazine selected Mike as a "Rising Star" in the Nevada Legal field. . Education: Mike earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Boyd School of Law, graduating in the top 25% of his class. He was awarded with the CALI Award for Excellence for Torts II and Dean's List Honors. He worked as a student attorney for the Clark County Public Defender's Office, a judicial extern for United States District Court (then Chief) Judge Philip Pro, and as a research assistant for two law professors. Additionally, he also received training from the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center to become a mediator for small claims court disputes. Mike earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. There, he was an associate student justice and a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Bar Admissions: Nevada; California (inactive); the United States District Court, District of Nevada; and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Community Service: Mike serves as the President of the Boyd School of Law's Alumni Association, Board Member of the UNLV Alumni Association, and the Social Chairman for the Young Lawyer's Division, State Bar of Nevada.
